LYTTON, EDWARD ROBERT, EARL OF

LYTTON, EDWARD ROBERT, EARL OF
   statesman and novelist, under the nom de plume of Owen Meredith; entered the diplomatic service at an early age, became viceroy of India in 1876, and ambassador at Paris in 1892.
